CAFC Food Shelf
The Chester-Andover Family Center Food Shelf provides its clientele with one week’s worth of free food per month. Clients can shop for non-perishable staples, fresh produce, meat and dairy products. They may also shop once a week for fresh produce as available.
Staffed by volunteers, our food shelf provides a food shopping experience that allows recipients to make choices for themselves and their family. Recipes and information on nutrition are available. We can also help identify additional food sources in the greater Chester-Andover community.
The Chester-Andover Family Center Food Shelf also distributes food through TEFAP, The Emergency Federal Food Assistance Program. We can help determine if you are eligible for this program.
The Food Shelf depends on proceeds from Thrift Shop sales, individual and corporate donations and fundraising to purchase food. Donations of shelf-stable foods and fresh produce from businesses, organizations, growers and individuals are essential to our operation.
Our partners include the Vermont Food Bank and the Healthy Harvest Network.
Food Shelf Hours:
Thursdays, 1-4PM
