Who We Are
The Chester-Andover Family Center began as the Fred Pope Family Center in 1985 as a part of the Springfield Family Center.
In 1995, the Chester-based Board was organized, and the Fred Pope Family Center moved to Depot Street in Chester. In 1996, the Fred Pope Family Center became the Chester-Andover Family Center, an independent, 501c3, nonprofit, charitable organization.
In November 2012, the Family Center moved to its current location at 908 Route 103 S. Our new location allowed the Thrift Shop to expand hours of operation and the Food Shelf to offer an expanded choice of supplemental, nutritious food to its recipients.
Today, the Chester-Andover Family Center is a thriving 501c3 nonprofit charitable organization serving our community with three programs: a Thrift Shop, Food Shelf and Financial Assistance.
We are a 100% volunteer organization offering many opportunities for service to our community.
Our Mission is to “make a difference in our community by providing resources for financial assistance, supplemental, nutritional food, affordable clothing and household goods.
